On Resilience & Motherhood
In motherhood, there is no clear way to define success
and a million ways to fail.

Therein lies a million opportunities
to gain resilience and grow.
I started journaling as a new mom in 2009, unsure if I would ever have the courage to share my truth about my postpartum struggle—wondering whether the science of happiness I had studied and practiced really applied to the experience of motherhood.

Four years later, I was nine months pregnant with my third baby when my toddler suffered a life-threatening burn injury. That night, I emailed friends asking for help—and began to find my voice as a writer on resilience and motherhood by the grace of all the blessings I found in a burn unit. You can read that story here:

This website holds an archive of the writing I stand on today—work featured in publications ranging from parenting to psychology, chronicling my evolution as a writer and the word-by-word process of healing that inspired my forthcoming memoir, The Good Within Our Midst.
For my current writing, you can find me on Substack @TheArtistryofFaith. I also co-create essays and podcasts @TheMagdaleneThread, exploring Mary and the feminine voice of Christianity.
